LIBRARY AND DOCUMENTATION CENTRE

 

NUEPA Library and Documentation Centre are situated in a building of the Institute covering 750 sq. meter of carpet area of three floors. They have wide collection of more than 58500 volumes on educational planning and management includes books, bound volumes of journals, documents, government publications, annual reports, project reports, UNESCO, World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) publications.  In addition, the library and documentation centre have audio-visual facilities containing about 370 items of non-book material such as audio cassettes, video cassettes, films, micro-films, microfiches and CD-ROMs on education and its allied disciplines. The library subscribes to more than 250 journals and magazines both national and international in the core area of education, planning and management.

NUEPA's Documentation Centre comprises of a unique collection of the Central and State Governments' publications such as Census of India, State and District Census Reports, State and District Gazetteers, Acts and Statutes of Central and State Universities, District Primary Education Progrramme (DPEP) and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Statistical Handbooks of States, Commissions and Committees Reports, All India Educational Surveys, Economic Surveys, State Economic Surveys, State Educational Plans, State Human Development Reports, Five Year Plans, NUEPA Research Studies, NUEPA Occasional Paper Series, NUEPA Training Programme Reports, Annual Reports of the organisation (1962-2004), Annual Reports of various Ministries, International Institute of Educational Planning (IIEP), Paris. Moreover, it holds a rich collection of theses and dissertations on International Diploma in Educational Planning and Administration (IDEPA) and Diploma in Educational Planning and Administration (DEPA). Moreover, the centre holds a rich collection of non-book material such as indexing databases, Census of India, District Report Cards 2001-2004, Maps at School, Maps of India, State Human Development Reports, World Development Reports, etc. The Centre is a repository of the International Institute of Educational Planning (IIEP) publications. Documentation Centre subscribes to 20 national and regional newspapers and brings out an Education File of press clippings (Monthly) for the use of faculty and other users. 

It has computerized all its operations by using an integrated software LibSys 4 (Rel 5.0). Moreover, the Library and Documentation Centre are equipped with electronic databases like Educational Resources and Information Centre (ERIC). The Library and Documentation Centre have a membership of DELNET (Developing Library Network) to promote the sharing of resources at national and international level.

Moreover, the Library and Documentation Centre have developed an online library that provides access to more than 200 full-text Indian and foreign journals, national and international indexing databases, current contents of periodicals, newspapers and full-text reports both national and international. They are having air-conditioned facility, which provides conducive environment for the readers. The Library and Documentation Centre have the reading cum reference room that having the capacity of more than 75 readers on three floors. It meets the information needs of faculty, research scholars of India and abroad and participants of workshops, seminars and training programmes conducted by NUEPA.

The Library and Documentation Centre remain open from Monday to Friday. The timings of the Library and Documentation Centre are:
