The Department works
in the policy, planning and management dimensions of higher and
professional education. It encourages research on issues like
quality, governance, financing and internationalization of higher
and professional education. It undertakes training programmes and workshops for
institutional heads and senior university and state officials in the
Planning and management of higher and professional education. The
department also provides technical and professional consultancy to
policy, planning and implementing agencies of higher and
professional education.
