Full-time Integrated M. Phil.-Ph.D.  and Direct Ph.D. Programmes

 

Full-time Integrated M.Phil.-Ph.D. and Direct Ph.D. Programmes will be offered in three parts:  

Part I

Course Work

Part II

Dissertation work

Part III

Thesis work

Part I: Course Work

Part I comprises of course work of one year duration. Three Compulsory courses and  Two Optional courses( to be opted from a list of sixteen courses) are of four credits each except the  Compulsory course on Research Methodology and Statistics which will carry eight credits and field study of two credits; totaling to 30 credits.

The four Compulsory Papers will be transacted in the first eight months, while the optional papers will be covered in the last four months of the first year.
 

Part II: Dissertation

 

After the successful completion of course work the scholar is required to work for the Dissertation, from the beginning of the second year which will lead to M. Phil. degree.

 
Part III: Thesis

The scholars registered for Ph. D. Programme will work on an approved topic and submit the thesis under an identified supervisor. After evaluation successful scholars shall be awarded Ph. D. degree.

 

Course Outline for Part-time Ph. D. Programme

 

Coursework is not mandatory for the scholars admitted to the Part-time Ph.D. Programme. However University reserves the right to recommend attendance and completion of the part and whole of the course work on case to case basis. Once registered for Ph. D. Programme will work on an approved topic and submit the thesis under an identified supervisor. After evaluation successful scholars shall be awarded Ph. D. degree.
